Schoology (/skoo-luh-jee/) + SSCS + You = A Dynamic Learning Community

Schoology is SSCS's learning management system (LMS) that connects all the people, content, and systems that fuel education.

Schoology's powerful platform will be used as an educational hub for SSCS's 1:1 iPad initiative and the blended learning that is enabled by these learning tools. Schoology will be leveraged at SSCS to increase student engagement and achievement by:
  • effectively delivering instruction that incorporates 21st century skills;
  • expanding teachers' repertoire in personally connecting students with dynamic instruction and learning opportunities; and 
  • deepening parental involvement through enhanced communication and collaboration. 

What is Schoology?
With Schoology, teachers can do things as simple as posting updates, assignments, quizzes, and links to educational resources or as sophisticated as conducting online (self-paced) instruction, providing one-on-one remediation, and/or hosting online discussions. Parents can assess their child's grades and work, while also being able to send a message to their child's teacher. Students can use the familiar social network format to collaborate with their theirs and teacher, manage a calendar, link to assignments, and submit/share multi-media work. 

As Schoology is new to all of SSCS's learning community, expect that each teacher will use Schoology in a way that best fits his/her teaching style, content area, grade level, and overall comfort with technology.  We are excited to offer this 21st century tool, which is meant to join all stakeholders at Sharon Springs Central School District in forging the best possible education for our students.
